The Foundation Mohamed VI chaired by Mister Azoulay André is a caritative foundation, in charge of the research and preservation of the argan tree. The argan tree is a symbolic Moroccan tree, 65 million year old. It is extended on 870 000 hectares, but more than 600 hectares was lost last century.
It is important to know that the argan tree represents more than 7 million annual working days for Moroccan people, a real source of income for them. And the population living on argan production in a direct or indirect way is around 3 million Moroccans. The Foundation Mohamed VI is working seriously for ecological and socio economic improvements of the argan system.
